SYNOPSIS

A strong, modern woman who was born in Somalia but brought up in North America, Cambara returns to Mogadiscio to escape a failed marriage and an overweening mother. Her journey back to her roots in a desperate attempt to find herself on her own terms, however ironically, in a country where women must veil their faces.

But Mogadiscio is no longer a city that Cambara understands or even recognizes. And as she struggles as an outsider through a blasted and brutal landscape, she will find obstacle much greater than she had imagined - and new strengths within herself to overcome them.
